Market research firm IDC's latest statistics show that in the Indian smartphone market, Apple successfully hit a nice turnaround. In the fourth quarter of 2012, Apple smartphone smartphone market in India to grab a share of 15.6%, behind market leader Samsung (38.8%).
Relative to the third quarter of last year, the market structure has undergone significant changes. At that time, the IDC company statistics show, Samsung accounted for 46% share of the smartphone market in India, and Apple have not even squeeze into the top five on the market.
Back in early February, IDC claimed that sales of the Mac computer manufacturers in India has started to improve its market share increased by 400%. But at that time, whether on Apple accounted for much of the market share, the company did not publish. The latest statistics show that this growth, both in absolute terms or relative value is impressive.
Apple's smart phone market share growth in part because it changed the iPhone's sales in India, make full use of the power of small local retailers to the issue of the phone, and introduced the installment plan, greatly reducing the Indian consumers to buy iPhone Prepaid expenses must be paid. Changing the cost / value demand is very critical, because the sales price of the Apple iPhone in India than the world elsewhere is more expensive, but by Apple's existing sales channels it to the hands of consumers is proved to be very difficult thing However, iPad mini and iPad 4 released in the North American market soon landed in India, This shows that Apple is working to lose its products run as soon as possible to this market.
Apple retail stores have not settled in India, whether it is a physical store or online store. However, in December last year, Apple does in India launched the iTunes Music Store, Apple has taken a big step to help ensure that their mobile phone has a complete ecosystem. However, in India, Apple still did not like it anywhere in the world to the iPhone carrier subsidies. IDC, these data suggest that although challenges remain, but Apple are doing the right thing. Currently, the Indian smartphone adoption rates are still very low, accounting for about 10% of the entire population.

Apple Samsung to lead the Indian tablet market

The latest data released by CyberMedia Research report showed that the surge in the third and fourth quarters of the Indian market tablet purchase rate, annual tablet shipments increased to 3.11 million in 2012. The fourth quarter Tablet shipments of up to 1.09 million higher in the third quarter to 1.1 million.

But here to be noted that the tablet device CyberMedia Research report refers to a screen size greater than or equal to 5-inch device, (i.e. Phablet device), which means that in most of the above-mentioned data include the device into which the main smart phones, such as Samsung G alaxy Note II or Huawei's Ascend Mate.

Samsung occupy 25.1% of the total volume of domestic firms in India Micromax ranked second, the proportion was 14.3%, slightly behind Apple came in third, was 9.1%. However, if only statistical seven inches and larger equipment shipments, Apple and Samsung are lost to Micromax. Micromax, Apple and Samsung in the 7-inch market shipments share were 17.07%, 10.88% and 10.39%.

The analysts believe that, although Samsung With Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II pre-emptive strike in the market, but in the long run this is not a sustainable development strategy. As Apple continues to "intervene", Phablet markets in the foreseeable future will be increasingly fierce competition.

A design direction of the smartphone screen bigger the better, but Phablet different or tablet, can not be treated equally. We can see from the above statistics, India the market Phablet equipment demand is really strong, while in 2013 the market will allow us to more clearly see the difference between these two types of devices. When the tablet market in India is perhaps the Apple iPad and iPad mini.
